I have always loved makeup.

Taking it off was another story.

Blush Off began because I wanted makeup removal to fit into real life. I am a mum of three, a business owner and someone who understands that by the end of the day, another complicated beauty routine is sometimes the last thing you feel like doing.

I wanted to create something women would actually keep using. Something quick, easy, high quality and made to last.

That idea eventually became Blush Off.

I started with the reviews no one wants to read.

Once I began researching reusable makeup remover pads, I deliberately looked past the five star reviews and went straight to the complaints of multiple brands.

Women were talking about pads that stayed wet, developed odour, grew mould or became hard and rough after repeated washing. One description that stayed with me was a pad that eventually felt like “ratty old carpet” against the skin.

I did not want to create another version of the same thing.

I wanted to understand why it was happening.

So I tested 26 of them.

I bought 26 different reusable makeup remover cloths and pads and started pulling them apart.

I wet them, washed them, left them to dry and looked at how they were constructed. Some contained inner materials that held onto moisture far longer than I expected, helping explain the smells, slow drying and changes in texture customers were complaining about.

That testing changed the way I approached Blush Off.

Instead of starting with how I wanted the pad to look, I started with how I wanted it to perform after being used again and again.

Built differently for a reason.

The final Blush Off pad was designed around three things: softness, longevity and simplicity.

The plush microfibre lifts makeup from the skin with water, while the internal construction was developed with repeated use in mind.

Then came the Shampoo Cleanser. Rather than using harsh washing products that can deteriorate the fibres over time, it was created specifically to remove makeup and bacteria from the pad while helping maintain its softness.

The result is not simply a reusable makeup remover pad.

It is a product designed to become part of your routine for hundreds of uses.

Blush Off launched in 2019 and quickly found its way into bathrooms, makeup bags and travel kits around Australia.

What started as my solution to a frustrating everyday problem has grown into a community of customers who come back year after year, recommend Blush Off to friends and, in some cases, have ordered from us more than twenty times.
